Chairman: Henry Lafferty
Henry Lafferty MSc FCMA (55), having qualified as an accountant in the glass industry, spent the major part of his early career with NFC plc (now part of Deutsche Post), including five years as Finance Director and four years as Managing Director of its property arm. During this period, NFC moved from the public sector to the private sector and on to the London Stock Exchange. He completed the Sloan Fellowship Masters Programme at London Business School prior to joining Jarvis plc in 1994 as Group Finance Director and Chairman of Jarvis Projects (the PFI/PPP arm). He left the Jarvis plc board in 2001 and in the same year was appointed Chief Executive of PatientFirst Partnerships Limited (now part of Care Capital PLC), a business formed to provide serviced accommodation to the primary care sector. He is also an executive director of and shareholder in InvestSelect PLC, an investment and management services company, and a non-executive director of a number of other companies, including City of London Group plc.
Non-Exec Director: Sean Park
Sean Park is a leading independent thinker on the future of financial markets, the author of The Park Paradigm, and the founding partner of Nauiokas Park LLP, a new advisory and investment firm focusing on the intersection of financial services and technology, organised around the central theme of a new industry paradigm driven by accelerating technological change and the impact of changing social and cultural trends. These include demographic change, globalisation and deregulation.
Sean is also a founding investor in innovative companies such as Betfair, WeatherBill, and seedcamp and has extensive experience investing in and advising start-up and high growth companies.
Prior to founding Nauiokas Park LLP in 2007, Sean worked at Dresdner Kleinwort's London office as Managing Director and Head of Digital Markets; a business division created in 2005 to develop, deploy and operate a complete suite of electronic/web-based trading, execution and analytical services across the full spectrum of capital markets and investment banking products. He was also a member of the Capital Markets Management Committee.
Sean joined Dresdner Kleinwort in 2000, where he held a series of senior positions in the Credit business including Head of Credit Flow Products. Prior to this, he held several positions such as Head of the European Bond Syndicate at BNP Paribas, having previously traded Ecu eurobonds and French government bonds, and was directly involved in most of the inaugural benchmark bond issues that laid the foundations of the Euro Capital Markets.
He is also a former board Director (and past Chairman) of International Index Company (provider of the iBoxx bond, iTraxx credit derivative and the iBoxxFX currency indices) and a founding Director of Markit Group (the leading industry source for asset valuation data and services supporting independent price verification and risk management in global financial and energy markets.)
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Sean has a BSc in Materials Science from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He is now based in London.
CEO: Nigel Verdon
Nigel was previously Business Development Director for Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank's equity business (cash, derivatives, ECM) and for Dresdner's Digital Markets electronic business trading (equities, rates, credit, futures, options, FX and prime broking).
Prior to Dresdner he co-founded and sold Evolution Consulting Group plc., a 120 person consulting firm advising tier-1 investment banks and private equity firms on financial markets technology and strategy.
He has also worked with Reuters, Swiss Bank Corp. and Nomura and in 2002 was semi-finalist in Entrepreneur of the Year.
Nigel has a B.Eng and a MSc. from Warrick University and a scholarship to the Henley School of Management.
Commercial Director: Mark Edworthy
Mark was the MD and largest shareholder of the AIM listed financing business, General Capital plc which he floated on AIM.
Prior to this, Mark was at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was Business Manager to the Head of the Private Client Division. Mark was instrumental in developing and implementing strategy.
Sales Director: Steve Lemon
Steve was a co-founding staff member at HiFX, one of the most successful FX deliverable brokerages in the market.
At HiFX his experience was gained in all front office departments - Corporate Brokerage & Risk Management Sales; Corporate Account Management & Dealing; and Sales Management.
Steve left HiFX as Director of Private Client Services having played an instrumental role in establishing the business in 5 countries.
More recently Steve co-founded Indigo Recruitment Company, a leading recruitment firm specialising in deliverable foreign exchange.
CTO: Nick Bourner
Nick has an extensive background in developing secure online trading platforms within the investment banking industry.
Some of Nick's select achievements & responsibilities have included; Senior Security Technology advisor in Reuters Global Security group; CTO of Evolution Consulting Group plc (working on projects for tier-1 investment banks); Technical and Security architect for UBS's Internet FX spot and FX derivatives trading platforms; and Technical and Security architect for eCommerce standards at UBS
